Professional Experience

Daniel has worked in various European Union (EU) jurisdictions since 1997, focusing on cross-border/M&A transactions, inward and outward investments and international commercial transactions. He has assisted numerous U.S. and EU-based multinationals, investment funds, founders/entrepreneurs, high-net worth individuals and business angel investors. His transactional experience has also been enriched having served as general counsel and partner of a leading EU-based regional investment banking boutique. Daniel also has substantial arbitration experience, including International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) disputes, is an arbitrator with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, Switzerland, the current Secretary General of the newly-established Bucharest International Arbitration Court (BIAC) and a Member of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.

Daniel has been an active member of the Florida (USA) Bar since 1997, and is a Board Certified Specialist in International Law. He has been registered as a foreign lawyer in EU jurisdictions since 2000, and is currently a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) International Contracts Committee.

  • Lead counsel to Tiger Global Management with respect to its investment in Neogen and its investment in and exit from eJobs Group, which investments included the negotiation and execution of complex share sale-purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreement and registration rights agreements
  • Lead counsel to Publicis Groupe with respect to acquisitions of Romanian operations of leading world-wide media planner & buyer/communications services provider (Zenith)
  • Lead counsel to Romcarbon on multi-jurisdictional corporate governance project pertaining to the Green Group and assistance with joint venture involving the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and Global Finance
  • Legal advisor to the Monsson Group with respect to sale of wind farm project to leading German power generation company (with overall acquisition price and investment value exceeding EUR 80 million)
